Avoiding the Pitfalls of Getting Kitchen Cabinets at Wholesale

Online shopping is becoming very popular, and for good reason. Without having to find the time to go out and shop from store to store, you can browse during free minutes to find anything you are interested in buying. You can even find larger items, such as appliances and TVs and have them delivered straight to your door.

The best part of Internet shopping is often the great prices you can find when you comparison shop. Instead of having to drive to different stores to compare, you can just search difference websites to see what they offer. Generally you can save a lot of money this way. If you're remodeling your kitchen, you might want to look into kitchen cabinets at wholesale from the various online shops.

A word to the wise. Before you buy anything from any online shop, find out what you can about the company's reputation. Just because the cabinets are cheap doesn't mean they're good quality or that you'll get the customer service that you need. If you read online reviews from previous customers, you'll find comments such as, "One of my countertops was damaged, and the company wouldn't replace it" or, "My cabinets were installed poorly, and the company refuses to talk to me about the problem". Obviously you don't want to end up dealing with a situation like that, so it pays to check a company out first. One good way you can do this is by calling (or accessing by Internet) the Better Business Bureau to find out if they have received any complaints about a company.

When a website offers 45 – 60% off retail price for their wholesale cabinets, beware of the fine print. As with buying cabinets at home improvement stores, you could just be buying basic cheap cabinets and then end up paying a fortune for add-ons and installation. Unless the website you're using is the manufacturer of the cabinets, most legitimate stores aren't able to give that deep of discounts. Online shops can often offer better deals because they don't have an actual store facility to maintain and a large staff to pay. Even so, there's a limit to how far they can slice prices, because they do have some overhead.

Keep in mind that just because you are buying brand name cabinets it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be getting that company's top-of-the-line models. Most companies manufacture several grades of cabinets from those considered construction grade up to lines of fine furniture quality. Check closely to make sure that the cabinet boxes are at least made of high-grade plywood. Using MDF or particle board can mean they will absorb moisture, which is a given in a kitchen environment, and subsequently sag, warp, or rot. If the wholesale cabinets you're looking at are veneered, find out what the veneer is made of and how thick it is. For instance, is it real wood veneer or faced with a melamine product?

A lot of times it can be said that you get what you pay for; however, there are good buys on the Internet as long as you don't believe everything you read and do some research prior to buying. Buying wholesale kitchen cabinets is sure to save you a bundle if you do it right.
